My design stance stems from the intersection of personal experience and professional practice. As a designer who has experienced cultural migration, I've personally experienced the confusion and psychological struggles of identity in unfamiliar environments. This experience has made me deeply aware that many young people, particularly those in transition or vulnerable situations, face similar, yet more hidden, challenges. This belated sense of been seen and then accompanying sense of responsibility have shaped my core design perspective: I focus on the unspoken and invisible emotional burdens, and strive to create a "silent presence" and non-judgmental companionship through design.
In my undergraduate studies, I explored the emotional capacity of visual language through graphic design, for example, incorporating a sense of breathability and inclusiveness into the "ECHO" typeface. However, I gradually realized the limitations of static media and turned into interactive design. I believe that interactive systems can foster dynamic, perceptible dialogues, transforming users from passive observers into active participants, allowing them to affirm their own existence and value through interaction.
Thus, my stance is not as an authority offering solutions, but as a builder of supportive environments. I try to transform design into an emotional container, helping users find belonging and strength amidst uncertainty. If my work can at some point make people feel "seen," that is the deepest resonance that design can achieve.
